The Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), is currently seeking a highly qualified professional for the position of Legal Advisor. This role is based within the Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions on a contract basis.

Position Overview

  • Job Title: Legal Advisor
  • Number of Positions: One (01)
  • Location: Directorate General (LGs), Islamabad
  • Nature of Job: Contract-based (Initially for two years, extendable based on performance and requirement)
  • Remuneration: Maximum monthly lump sum of Rs. 0.5 Million (Negotiable)

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this prestigious role, candidates must meet the following stringent requirements:

1. Education & Qualification

  • Masters or equivalent qualification in Law from an HEC recognized institute/university.
  • Preference: Candidates with foreign qualifications in Petroleum Laws, Policy, and Contracts will be preferred.

2. Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 07 (seven) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience can be gained from in-house practice, private practice, law firms, major industrial groups, or government/corporate/autonomous bodies.
  • Experience must involve advising on international energy transactions, specifically in the LNG/LPG business and supply chain.
  • Sound knowledge of the legal framework in Pakistan’s Petroleum Sector, including the latest amendments in Petroleum Rules and Policies.
  • Proven track record in handling local and International Arbitration cases is a major plus.
  • Must possess a valid License to plead cases in the High Courts of Pakistan.

3. Age Limit

  • The maximum age limit for applicants is 55 years.
