The Opportunity: Elevating WASH Initiatives in Pakistan

Reporting directly to the Chief WASH/CEE (P-5), the WASH Manager plays a vital role in steering the direction of the country’s infrastructure and hygiene services. This is a Fixed-Term Appointment that demands both high-level strategic planning and hands-on operational oversight.

In this role, you won’t just be managing projects—you will be providing authoritative advice to senior government officials and sector support agencies to influence long-term national policies.

Core Responsibilities Include:

Programme Leadership: Leading the development, preparation, management, implementation, and evaluation of the country’s comprehensive WASH portfolio.
Quality Assurance: Standardizing the quality and consistency of WASH infrastructure across diverse, risk-prone regions.
Risk-Informed Programming: Enhancing internal control approaches and ensuring all interventions are resilient against climate, security, and environmental vulnerabilities.
Strategic Coordination: Interacting with senior stakeholders, humanitarian partners, and government bodies to align emergency response and development goals.

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following baseline criteria:

Education: An advanced university degree (Master’s Degree or higher) in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering, or a closely related technical field.
Professional Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive professional experience in WASH program planning and management.
Humanitarian Exposure: At least one (1) year of active work experience in a humanitarian context.
Specialized Skills: Demonstrated experience in emergency preparedness, response planning, risk management, internal controls, and programme assurance mechanisms.
