Punjab Grid Company Limited (PGCL), a public sector entity fully owned by the Government of the Punjab (GoPb) under the Energy Department, has officially announced exciting executive career opportunities. Established to undertake electricity transmission services across the province of Punjab, PGCL is seeking dynamic, highly qualified, and experienced professionals to fill senior management roles.

Vacancies Summary & Eligibility Criteria

PGCL invites applications for the following key positions:

1. Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

• No. of Positions: 1
• Lump Sum Salary Range: PKR 1,200,000 to 2,000,000 per month
• Maximum Age Limit: 62 years
• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (minimum). Preference will be given to candidates holding a Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Business / Project Management from HEC recognized/accredited universities.
• Experience: Minimum 20 years of post-qualification experience in the power sector, out of which at least 5 years must be in a senior management position as CEO or directly reporting to the CEO. Experience in transmission utilities, contract management, power regulatory affairs, and tariff matters is preferred.

2. Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

• No. of Positions: 1
• Lump Sum Salary Range: PKR 600,000 to 1,000,000 per month
• Maximum Age Limit: 50 years
• Qualification & Experience:
  • Member of a recognized body of professional accountants with at least 5 years of relevant experience in case of Public Sector Companies having total assets of 5 billion rupees or more; OR
  • Master’s degree in Finance from an HEC-recognized university with at least 10 years of relevant experience in case of other Public Sector Companies.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with finance/tariff-related experience in the power sector.

3. General Manager Technical (GM Technical)

• No. of Positions: 1
• Lump Sum Salary Range: PKR 600,000 to 1,000,000 per month
• Maximum Age Limit: 50 years
• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering from an HEC-recognized university (minimum). Preferably a Master’s degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: At least 10 years of experience at a management level in the power sector, specifically involving transmission lines and grid stations.

4. Company Secretary (CS)

• No. of Positions: 1
• Lump Sum Salary Range: PKR 400,000 to 800,000 per month
• Maximum Age Limit: 40 years
• Qualification & Experience:
  • Member of a recognized body of professional accountants; OR
  • Member of a recognized body of corporate or chartered secretaries; OR
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration/Commerce or Law graduate from an HEC-recognized university with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Detailed Responsibilities

• CEO: Actively expand the company’s market presence, direct strategic initiatives, oversee transmission operations, engage with key power regulators (CTBCM), and ensure long-term profitability and corporate governance.
• CFO: Manage financial accounts, prepare annual budgets and financial statements, develop investment plans, lead revenue collection, and ensure financial compliance.
• GM Technical: Plan, design, and oversee grid station operations and transmission lines, supervise connection agreements, and manage PPP (Public-Private Partnership) projects.
• Company Secretary: Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, handle Board of Directors secretarial duties, draft minutes, and coordinate internal and external legal affairs.

2. The hiring/appointment of the CEO must meet the “Fit and Proper” criteria under the Public Sector Companies (Appointment of Chief Executive) Guidelines, 2015.
