The Inspector General of Prisons, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has opened recruitment for 131 leftover vacancies of Jail Warders under BPS-07. These specific vacancies are dedicated entirely to promoting diversity and representation within the correctional services, divided across three distinct social categories.


KPK Prison Department Jobs 2026 Details

The recruitment is being held for BPS-07 positions. Candidates holding a KPK domicile belonging to the respective regions can apply.

1. Warder (Minority Male)

This position is explicitly reserved for male candidates belonging to minority (non-Muslim) communities residing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

  • Pay Scale: BPS-07 (Regular Basis)
  • Total Vacancies: 113 Seats
  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate (SSC) with a minimum 2nd Division from any recognized Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE). Equivalent qualifications (like O-Levels with an equivalence certificate) are acceptable.
  • Age Bracket: 18 to 30 years (Calculated as of the last date of application submission).
  • Strict Physical Measurements:
    • Height: Minimum 5 feet and 7 inches ($5’\text{ }7″$).
    • Chest: 33 inches unexpanded, stretching to 34.5 inches when fully expanded ($33″ \times 34.5″$).
  • Medical Fitness Benchmarks: * Absolute physical agility and freedom from any structural/organic deformity.
    • Flawless eyesight: 6/6 in both eyes without the aid of spectacles or contact lenses. No color blindness.

2. Warder (Minority Female)

This category is designated for female applicants belonging to minority (non-Muslim) communities holding a valid KPK region domicile.

  • Pay Scale: BPS-07 (Regular Basis)
  • Total Vacancies: 02 Seats (Specifically allocated to the D.I. Khan Region).
  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate (SSC) with a minimum 2nd Division or an equivalent recognized educational background.
  • Age Bracket: 18 to 30 years.
  • Strict Physical Measurements:
    • Height: Minimum 5 feet and 2 inches ($5’\text{ }2″$).
  • Medical Fitness Benchmarks:
    • Must be declared medically fit by a certified government medical board.

3. Warder (Transgender Candidates)

  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate (SSC) with at least a 2nd Division or equivalent.

Core Duties and Job Profile of a Jail Warder

If selected as a Warder (BPS-07), your operational duties within the KPK correctional facilities will involve:

  • Inmate Surveillance: Maintaining continuous vigilance over barracks, cells, and courtyard perimeters to ensure safety and prevent escape attempts.
  • Security & Checking: Conducting body searches of inmates, scanning visitors, and inspecting incoming goods for contraband items.
  • Routine Escorts: Safely escorting prisoners to court hearings, medical checkups, or internal prison workshops.
  • Shift Rotations: Operating in structured shifts (including night shifts) to preserve the internal discipline of the prison ecosystem.

Selection Process & Terms and Conditions

  • Initial Screening: Physical measurements (height and chest) will be strictly verified by ETEA according to their rules.
  • Written Test: Candidates must clear the ETEA screening test. Age relaxation will be calculated according to the KPK Civil Servants Initial Recruitment Rules.
  • Transgender Candidates: Transgender applicants must provide a certificate issued by the Social Welfare Department of KPK.
  • No TA/DA: No travel or daily allowance will be provided for appearing in the test or interview.
